Unmapped Territory
This piece emerged as a meditation on memory, transformation, and the unseen terrain we carry within. It explores the idea that parts of us—past experiences, long-buried emotions, forgotten spaces—are never truly lost. Instead, they lie dormant, layered beneath the surface, waiting to be uncovered or reimagined. I was drawn to the soothing and restorative qualities of the crystal blues, which act as both water and light—agents of healing, clarity, and movement. As forms drift in and out of focus, some remain submerged, while others rise to become part of a new landscape—more modern, more relevant, yet deeply rooted in what came before.
This work reflects a personal process of integrating the past without being bound by it. It is about choosing which fragments to preserve, which to release, and how to build something new out of the quiet, new uncharted spaces.
